Crossmint Agent Commerce Toolkit for AI Payments
One integration that lets AI agents pay with any card and check out at any online store
Tool Overview
Details, capabilities and usage guidance
Features
- ✓ One integration replaces the four or more vendors agent payments usually require, so a failed purchase is easier to trace
- ✓ Card entry renders in your own UI and goes straight into a PCI-compliant vault, so your servers only ever hold a token
- ✓ Supports tokenized credentials from Visa Intelligent Commerce and Mastercard Agent Pay with expiration dates and spend limits
- ✓ Picks the checkout path per purchase by availability, reliability and cost: embedded options like Shop Pay, agentic commerce protocols such as UCP, or browser automation where neither exists
- ✓ Users add cards and approve purchases inside the agent's app instead of creating a separate account in a third-party wallet
How to Use
- Point your AI coding tool (for example Claude Code or Cursor) at the Crossmint docs and describe what you want to build
- Let the coding agent read the docs, install the SDK and add card collection plus checkout to your app
- Validate the flow quickly with the test cards published in the docs
- Walk the full flow in the open-source reference app at github.com/Crossmint/agent-commerce-sample-app, then go live
FAQ
What is the Agent Commerce Toolkit?
A developer toolkit Crossmint launched on 8 October 2026 that lets AI agents pay with any card and complete purchases at any online store. Crossmint says it handles the full purchase flow, from saving a card to completing checkout, in a single integration, and that it was live and self-serve at launch.
Do I have to handle PCI compliance myself?
Per Crossmint, no. Card entry renders in the developer's own UI and goes directly to a PCI-compliant vault, so the developer's servers only receive a token and stay out of PCI scope, and the agent never touches card numbers.
Which cards are supported?
Any card. Where a card supports it, the toolkit uses tokenized credentials from Visa Intelligent Commerce and Mastercard Agent Pay — scoped virtual cards with expiration dates and spend limits — and when a card is not eligible it still completes the purchase securely from the vault.
Does it guarantee a successful order at every store?
No. Crossmint says it chooses a checkout path per purchase based on availability, reliability and cost: embedded options such as Shop Pay or agentic commerce protocols such as UCP where they exist, and browser automation where neither does — and browser automation still runs into logins, pop-ups and bot checks.
Is it available now and how fast can I start?
Crossmint says the toolkit is live and self-serve. The fastest path is to point your coding agent at the Crossmint docs so it installs the SDK and adds card collection and checkout, or run the open-source reference app on GitHub first — its flow uses live purchases rather than a simulation.
How is it different from plain browser automation?
Browser automation is only the fallback. The point of the toolkit is that developers do not integrate each protocol separately: one integration handles the card vault, network credentials, merchant checkout and the choice of retry path, which cuts down the debugging cost of stitching several vendors together.
