FAQ

Is Kimi Slides free?

Slides is built into the Kimi platform. Basic usage is free but quota-limited; heavy use requires a paid Kimi plan. It is not a standalone app you install separately.

Can the exported file still be edited?

Yes. It exports as PowerPoint (.pptx), which you can keep editing in PowerPoint, WPS or Keynote. That is the main difference from many AI slide tools that only hand you an uneditable PDF.

Which model powers it?

It runs on Moonshot AI's Kimi models, including the K-series reasoning model that plans the deck structure. Kimi K3 is a 2.8-trillion-parameter, natively multimodal model with a 1M-token context window.

Is it safe to upload company documents?

The Kimi platform is hosted by Moonshot in China. Before uploading confidential customer data or regulated records, check your own organization's data-handling rules.

Can I present the generated content as-is?

Structure and layout are usually ready to use, but AI-written copy can state wrong or outdated numbers with confidence. Verify names, figures, dates and statistics before you present.
