Kognitos AI Employees: Agents That Follow SOPs and Show Their Work
Announced 21 October 2026: 61 role-based agents backed by 515 SOPs, with Quill drafting the SOPs nobody wrote down for human approval — execution runs deterministically through an English-as-Code engine and every run leaves an auditor-readable journal
Tool Interface
Interactive tool will be available soon
Features
- ✓ Hire a role, not a prompt: every agent has a job description, approved SOPs, limits on what it does without human approval and clear handoff responsibilities
- ✓ No invented steps: models read documents and requests, while a compiled English-as-Code engine executes the SOP the same way every run
- ✓ Quill writes the SOPs: it studies your systems and recent transactions, compares them to written policy and drafts plain-English procedures that publish only after a human approves
- ✓ Audit-ready by design: every run keeps a journal of each call to ERP, bank or inbox with inputs, outputs and the exact SOP version, so an auditor can re-perform it
- ✓ It stops and asks: cases outside the SOP pause for a person in plain English, and the answer only becomes guidance after an approver signs off
How to Use
- Start with the lowest-risk process — small-invoice handling in accounts payable, not month-end close
- Have Quill draft the SOPs for that role, then review line by line: approval thresholds, exception handling and which actions must come back to a human get fixed here
- Run in parallel for a while and compare error rates and audit-log quality against your current RPA or manual flow before retiring anything
- When connecting your own agents, use REST or MCP, turn the 133 finance monitors into continuous controls in one click, and configure log retention to match audit requirements
FAQ
What are Kognitos AI Employees?
Role-based AI agents announced by Kognitos on 21 October 2026: 61 roles backed by 515 SOPs, covering accounts payable, reconciliation, cash application, month-end close and KYC. Each agent has a job description, approved SOPs and defined limits on what it can do without human approval. How is it different from a normal AI agent?
Execution. A conventional agent decides each step as it goes, so the same invoice can be handled differently twice, which is hard to explain to an auditor. Kognitos takes a neurosymbolic route: models read documents and requests, while an SOP compiled once is executed by a deterministic English-as-Code engine — officially the same way every run, with no step added that is not in the approved SOP.
What about processes nobody documented?
That is Quill's job. Kognitos describes it as studying the team's systems and recent transactions, comparing them against written policy and drafting each SOP in plain English; nothing publishes until a person approves it. It reads like documentation work, but the real effect is freezing the process — an undocumented process cannot be executed deterministically.
Does the audit trail actually hold up?
Kognitos makes this the centrepiece: every run has an auditor-readable journal noting each call to ERP, bank or inbox with inputs and outputs, plus the exact SOP version, so an auditor can re-perform any transaction step by step. That is a design claim; whether it satisfies your auditors depends on your log-retention and permission requirements, so test it during a pilot.
Is it available, and how do you connect?
Kognitos says AI Employees and Context Graphs are available in preview to its customers. Integration runs over REST and MCP so customers can connect their own agents, and there are 133 ready-made finance monitors that convert into continuous controls in one click. Which teams is this actually for?
Finance and banking teams with mature processes, heavy audit pressure and expensive mistakes — accounts payable, reconciliation, cash application, month-end close, KYC. Conversely, if your processes are undocumented or change weekly, process clean-up is a better investment than an agent.
