FAQ
What is Pomelli?
Pomelli is an experimental AI marketing tool from Google Labs in partnership with Google DeepMind, designed for small and medium businesses. It analyses your website to learn your brand identity, then generates on-brand social campaign ideas and marketing assets. It was announced on the official Google blog on 28 October 2025.
How is it different from a generic AI image tool?
It understands the brand before it creates. A generic tool just renders from a prompt; Pomelli first distils a brand DNA from your site — colours, fonts, tone and visual style — and generates copy and imagery from that, so output stays consistent across Instagram, Facebook and other channels.
Can I edit what it generates?
Yes. Pomelli produces editable marketing assets: both copy and visuals can be adjusted online before export, rather than being a black box you either accept or discard. That leaves room for a final human review before publishing.
Who is it best for?
Mostly small businesses and solo founders who lack dedicated designers and copywriters yet need to keep posting. It compresses ideation, copy, design and brand consistency into minutes, which suits high-volume day-to-day content operations.
Is it free, and does it support other languages?
Pomelli is free as a Google Labs public beta, currently English-only and available in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Other regions may need network workarounds; check the Google Labs site for the current availability and policy.
How does it relate to Google's other AI tools?
It belongs to the same Google Labs experiment family as Mixboard for ideation and Google AI Studio for prototyping, and shares some of the underlying Gemini-family model work. Pomelli focuses specifically on marketing asset generation for small businesses.
