FAQ

Is $0.05 per minute the final price?

No. The $0.05 per minute is only Vapi's hosting fee. Speech-to-text, the language model, text-to-speech and telephony are each billed separately by their providers at their own rates, and the real cost is the sum of all four layers.

How are the add-ons priced?

The pricing page lists HIPAA-eligible data handling with a DPA and BAA at $2,000/month, additional concurrency at $10 per line per month and additional organizations at $20 per organization per month. For telephony, Vonage shows about $0.00814/min and Telnyx about $0.0055/min.

How long does the free option last?

There is no permanent free plan. Vapi starts usage-only from $0, prepaying hosting at $0.05 per minute with models passed through at cost, and the entry setup ships with 4 concurrent calls, 2 organizations and 1 phone number.

What is it best suited for?

Teams that need deep control over the conversation stack — appointment confirmation, outbound qualification, support triage — because each of the STT, LLM and TTS layers can be swapped for a different vendor. If you just want to launch fast without juggling several vendor invoices, the split pricing works against you.

What if I need more concurrency?

Add extra concurrent lines at $10 per line per month, or negotiate capacity and uptime commitments through the higher Success Packages. Each organization starts with one included Vapi phone number, and more can be added inside the platform.
