What is a photo background changer?
An online tool that auto-detects background areas in an image and replaces them with your chosen color. Input is a JPG/PNG image, output is the same image with a new background.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, and WebP. Output format matches the input format. Maximum file size is 10MB per image.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All image processing runs locally in your browser using Canvas API and color threshold algorithms.
What background colors can I choose?
Any HEX/RGB color via a color picker, plus 8 preset colors: white, black, red, blue, green, yellow, gray, and pink.
What does the sensitivity/threshold control do?
Controls the color tolerance for background detection. Lower values (5-15) replace only very similar colors for precise replacement. Higher values (30-50) replace a wider color range for complex backgrounds.
What types of photos work best?
Photos where the subject and background have clearly different colors — like ID photos, product shots, and portraits. If subject and background colors are similar, accidental replacement may occur.
Is this tool free?
