FAQ

Does PNG compression affect transparency?

We preserve transparency as much as possible. At high quality settings, transparency is nearly unaffected. Very low quality may cause edge artifacts.

Are my images uploaded?

No. All compression happens in your browser. Images never leave your device.

Is PNG compression lossy or lossless?

Two modes: lossless optimizes IDAT encoding and filter strategies (10-25% reduction); lossy uses color quantization to reduce palette size (50-80% reduction).

Will transparency be affected?

Lossless mode fully preserves the alpha channel. Lossy color quantization may cause slight banding on semi-transparent edges, so use lossless for images with transparency.

Which compresses better, PNG or JPG?

JPG achieves higher compression (60-80% for photos) because it is lossy. PNG is better for graphics needing transparency or sharp edges (icons, screenshots) with lower compression but higher fidelity.

Does it support batch PNG compression?

Yes. Upload multiple PNG images for batch processing. Each is compressed and downloadable individually.
