What is MAC Address Generator?
The MAC address generator is a free online networking tool that instantly creates random MAC addresses. Supports custom vendor prefixes (OUI), four separator formats (colon/hyphen/dot/none), batch generation, plus unicast/multicast (I/G bit) and globally/locally administered (U/L bit) flags. Ideal for network simulators, VM configuration, device testing and networking education. Everything is generated locally in your browser.

What is MAC Address Generator?
An online MAC address generator with custom OUI prefixes, multiple separator formats, unicast/multicast and locally administered options.. Everything runs locally in your browser — no uploads.
What is an OUI prefix?
OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier) is the first 24 bits of a MAC address, assigned to vendors by IEEE. Adding one generates addresses from that vendor's range.
What is the difference between unicast and multicast?
The least significant bit of the first byte (I/G bit) is 0 for unicast and 1 for multicast. Unicast targets one device; multicast targets a group.
What is a locally administered address?
When the second-least-significant bit (U/L bit) of the first byte is 1, the address is locally administered — assigned by a local admin rather than burned in by the vendor. Commonly used for VMs.
Can I use these MACs in production?
Please use them only for testing, simulators and labs. Real production devices should use vendor-assigned unique MAC addresses to avoid conflicts.
What formats are supported?
AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF, AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF, AABB.CCDD.EEFF (Cisco style) and no-separator formats.
Can I generate in bulk?
Yes — up to 100 addresses at once, with one-click copy for all results.
