What is a margin calculator?
An online pricing tool. Input: cost and selling price. Output: profit, margin % (profit ÷ price), markup % (profit ÷ cost), plus a reference price table. Used for e-commerce pricing and margin analysis. Everything runs locally in your browser — no uploads.
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin = profit ÷ selling price (how much of each dollar sold is profit). Markup = profit ÷ cost (how much is added on top of cost).
How is the reference table calculated?
By margin: price = cost ÷ (1 - margin%). By markup: price = cost × (1 + markup%).
What if price is below cost?
Profit goes negative and margin % shows in red to flag the loss.
Does it support other currencies?
The UI shows $, but amounts are plain numbers — read them as any currency you like.
Can I copy the result?
Yes. Copy Result writes a one-line summary (cost, price, profit, margin %, markup %) to the clipboard.
Is my data uploaded?
No. All calculation happens locally in your browser with no network requests.
